Coron Philippines

Coron is a municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines, encompassing the eastern half of Busuanga Island, all of Coron Island, and about 50 other small islets stretching as far as Tara Island in the northeast and Canipo Island in the south. All of these islands are part of the Calamian Archipelago in Northern Palawan, which separates the South China Sea from the Sulu Sea. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Mangroves – extensive natural mangrove forests with excellent kayak routes. • Kayangan Lake. • Twin Lagoon. • Barracuda Lake. • CYC Island – a pleasant but often crowded spot; it’s the only free public beach in the area. • Banol – a very scenic beach with flowering trees backed by dramatic rocky cliffs and a shoreline of powdery white sand.
